The Wine Vernissage sets the tone for your spring! A new edition of the select event, which highlights the news of the season, the successes of “Wine of Moldova” and sets new consumption trends, will take place on April 18, 18.00, at the “Prezident” Hotel in Chisinau (58/5 Dacia Blvd.). It can be reached by the following means of public transportation: no. 30, no. 31 trolleybuses and no.165 minibus.
The Wine Vernissage is a traditional event organized by the National Office for Vine and Wine, under the aegis of the country brand “Wine of Moldova. A Legend Alive”, which aims to promote the consumption culture of quality wine in the Republic of Moldova. It is organized twice a year, starting with 2011, the spring edition being dedicated to white and rosé wines, and the winter edition – to red wines. Throughout the years, the Wine Vernissage has confirmed its status as an effective launch event for domestic wine products, and last but not least, a communication platform between winemakers and consumers.
With the generic title “The Flavor of your Spring”, the Wine Vernissage will take place in a floral setting, where jazz, swing and tango music will create a distinctive background sound. This year’s edition will reunite under the unique country brand “Wine of Moldova. A Legend Alive” 50 producers from the four regions with Protected Geographical Indication which will delight the audience with over 300 white, rosé and red wines both from the last harvest and mature.
At the Wine Vernissage there will be for the first time a special area dedicated to domestic wines, which won prizes in national and international competitions held last year. The drinks will be offered for public tasting and the visitors interested in learning more about them will find them in “The Gold Catalogue of Wine of Moldova – 2018”, which will be launched at the event and can be bought at the same time.
The guests are invited to take part in tastings organized by the experts of the National Office for Vine and Wine, which will take place at the ONVV stand. The comparative tasting of wines made of indigenous varieties in 2017 and 2018 promises to be an unprecedented experience for visitors.
After a tour at the wineries’ stands, the public will have the opportunity to designate their favorites through an online voting platform. Every 30th registered person will be awarded, as well as the most active and most accurate one in predictions.
The best seasonal wines, voted by the event’s guests, will receive the “Vernissage in White” and “Vernissage in Rosé” trophies.
Traditionally, the Wine Vernissage will also include a charity action – “In Vino Caritas”: 2 students from the Academy of Music, Theater and Fine Arts will receive sets of painting utensils from the organizers. An exhibition of Academy students’ paintings will outline the refined atmosphere of the event.
The XVIth edition of the Wine Vernissage is organized by the National Office for Vine and Wine (ONVV), in partnership with the Ministry of Agriculture, Regional Development and Environment, the Associations of winemakers of wine products with PGI “Codru”, “Valul lui Traian”, “Stefan Voda”, “Divin” and with the support of the strategic partner – Competitiveness Project of Moldova, funded by USAID and the Swedish Government.
