We share some sequences from the second edition of the “Moldova Wine” National Contest, which took place on November 9 and 10 at Digital Park.

The competition, which took place according to the rules established by the International Organization of Vine and Wine (OIV), marks the alignment of the Moldovan wine industry with international standards and the appreciation of the exceptional quality of domestic wines by world-renowned experts in the field. This was yet another opportunity to celebrate our country’s winemaking tradition and culture, the art of the winemakers and the personality of the local terroir.

The results of the contest will be included in a specialized guide, which will contribute to the promotion of Moldovan wines on the local and international market.

The competition was organized by the National Vine and Wine Office in collaboration with the Ministry of Agriculture and Food Industry, with the support of the strategic partner USAID Moldova, through the Rural Competitiveness and Resilience Project.

New connections were made, the creations of Moldovan producers were tasted, stories were told and experiences were shared. Thank you for being with us!

In recent years, wine exports to the EU have grown impressively, reaching over 70%. This upward trend is not only a symbol of the quality of our wines, but also a clear sign of our dedication to European integration.

We are proud that wine is also the country’s ambassador and that through the work of our winemakers, we contribute to increasing the international recognition of our country. We continue to be dedicated to promoting quality, innovation and sustainability in everything we do.

Last week, around 90 representatives of wineries in the country participated in an online seminar dedicated to the new European legislation regarding the labeling of wine products. The seminar was given by Dr. Ignacio Sanchez Recarte, general secretary of CEEV (European Committee of Wine Companies).

The seminar discussed important topics related to the new European legislation, which will gradually enter into force, giving manufacturers a 2-year transition period for implementation. Manufacturers were advised to start preparing the new labels as early as this year and use QR code technology to redirect consumers to a web page independent of the manufacturer’s website.

The participation of winemakers from Moldova in the seminar was possible thanks to the support of ONVV, in order to place our wines as organically as possible on the European market, according to the highest quality standards.

On November 27, in Seoul, an exclusive tasting took place that brought together wines from eight Moldovan producers: Asconi, Bostavan, Carpe Diem, Chateau Cristi, Gitana, Milestii Mici, Purcari, Radacini.
