The triumph of Moldovan Wine celebrated today in Rome!

Dozens of prizes and medals were handed today to the Embassy of the Republic of Moldova in Italy for the absolute success of Moldovan wines in the 21st edition of the “Città de Vino” International Oenological Competition, organized in Italy.

Moldovan wines participated for the first time in the International Oenological Challenge “Città De Vino” contest where they won 17 gold medals, including 5 large gold medals.

Participation in the specialized competition was organized by the National Vine and Wine Office with the support of USAID Moldova through the Rural Competitiveness and Resilience Project in Moldova.

The award ceremony, organized in the lavish Campidoglio, was attended by the Minister of Agriculture from Italy, Francesco Lollobrigida, the Mayor of Rome, Roberto Gualtieri, as well as representatives from the Republic of Moldova, including the first secretary of the Embassy of the Republic of Moldova in Italy, Mr. Vadim Moțarschi, who received the medals on behalf of the seven awarded wineries.

A special award was given to Fautor Winery, which won 7 gold medals, including 3 “Grand Gold” medals.

During the first six months of the current year, Moldovan wineries participated in 14 international competitions, awarded with 268 gold medals and 177 silver medals. Systematic participation in international competitions is part of the marketing and promotion plan implemented under the auspices of the national wine brand “Vinul Moldovei. A Living Legend”.

Every year on Wine Day, Moldovan wineries take over the Great National Assembly Square, presenting the wide variety of our local wines and giving you the chance to meet the producers. Dozens of events will also take place at the country’s wineries, offering you an engaging experience in our rich winemaking tradition.

Last year, a record 80 producers displayed their best wines, attracting thousands of visitors and marking Wine Day as a true signature event for Moldova. The stalls are arranged to reflect the philosophy of each brand and the character of their wines, making it easy to spot your favourites.

We can’t wait for this year’s edition and the unique experiences it promises. Wine Day is not just a celebration, it is a journey into the heart of Moldova’s winemaking tradition. See you there!

More than 30 representatives of EU and non-EU states participated in a BTSF training program between 27-30 June

The training program is designed for staff of wine authorities in EU and non-EU countries, with the aim of informing them about all aspects of European Union law in the field of control and traceability and to ensure that checks are carried out in a uniform manner , objective and satisfactory.

The training was attended by Stefan Iamandi – main specialist responsible for the Wine Registry, ONVV and Sergiu Mazureac – head of the Directorate for the Safety and Quality of Wine Products, Ethyl Alcohol and Alcoholic Production, ANSA.

Excited to announce that our wines shine on the world stage at ASI – Association de la Sommellerie Internationale (ASI) in Helsinki, Finland!

10 of our wine producers proudly represented Moldova, presenting our wine heritage in front of over 100 international leaders of the sommelier profession.

This is a remarkable stage in the successful decade of the “Vinul Moldovei” brand, where the quality of our wines has been reaffirmed internationally, thanks to the efforts of the producers, but also of the development partners.

We could not be more proud of the fact that our wines are ambassadors of our excellence in the agri-food industry, connecting elements of culture, tourism and national pride.

We thank the Embassy of Moldova to Sweden, Norway, Finland and Iceland for their involvement, the National Vine and Wine Office and USAID Moldova for their strategic support as GOLD partners of ASI in 2023, the Sommelier Association of the Republic of Moldova for their presence!

A huge honor and responsibility, but one that opens up new business opportunities for us and increases the notoriety of our wines.

More than 20 wineries from Moldova at the “Republic of Moldova Presents” exhibition

Wines from Moldova are increasingly in demand on the Romanian market. Recently, wineries in the country presented their products at the “Republica Moldova Presents” exhibition, which took place in Brașov, Romania.

The participation of domestic wine producers was possible thanks to the support offered by the National Vine and Wine Office and the organizers of the event, the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Republic of Moldova. The wineries Aroma, Enoteria Platon, Chateau Vartely Winery, Vinuri de Comrat, Combinatul de Vinuri “CRICOVA” S.A., Podgoria Vin, Maurt, Aurelius, Javgur Winery, Basavin Winery, Tomai Vinex, Doina Vin, Vale Winery, Salcuta participated in the event , Fautor, Rădăcini, Imperial Vin, Invincom, Purcari and Domeniile Cuza.

Our winemakers had the opportunity to present their new products, but also to establish partnership relations with winemakers and businessmen from Romania.

The “DeVin & DeGust” festival was represented by “Scoala Vinului”

An important part of the “DeVin & DeGust” Festival was the “Wine School”, where wine experts offered masterclasses and practical information on tasting wines and appreciating their qualities.

The guests also learned more about the wine-growing areas demarcated for the production of the wine with the Protected Geographical Indication “Codru”, “Ștefan Vodă” and “Valul lui Traian” and about the unique character of the terroir that determines the specificity of the wines.

In total, more than 150 people participated in the masterclasses, during which 20 types of wines were tasted.

The “DeVin & DeGust” guests enjoyed, during the two days of the festival, activities from the whole spectrum – interactive, informative and fun

In addition to a lot of quality socializing, great wines and tasting masterclasses from professionals in the field from the “Wine School”, visitors were able to enjoy a wonderful musical performance. The rhythms of the ethno-folkloric ensembles and the songs of local artists who took the stage didn’t let the guests sit still for long. They fired up the crowd, danced and had a great time.
