The National Vine and Wine Office participated as a partner in the 8th edition of the Grape Festival, which took place on Sunday, in the city of Cimișlia.
The Grape Festival brought together winegrowers from 11 districts, who presented the variety of grape varieties grown in their vineyards.
During the event, a contest was also organized, with the generic “Golden Vine”, held for several categories: Vine of the year; Wine grower of the year; The best producer of table grapes; Best young producer of table grapes; The best exporter of table grapes; Promoter of table grapes in the local market.
To honor their work, the winners of the competition were awarded by the Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Agriculture, Vladimir Bolea, with diplomas and monetary prizes.
The competition is about innovation and modernization from hub to bottle.
All registered wineries will benefit from technical assistance and consultancy.
5 winners will receive up to 150,000 lei per company for the implementation of the technologies.

All wineries in the Republic of Moldova, registered according to the legislation in force, which have a good reputation and are registered in the Wine Registry.

Each company-candidate to the program can benefit from consulting services subsidized by the program to identify technologies, develop technical specifications, facilitate dialogue with tech suppliers.
The contest is organized by the USAID Rural Competitiveness and Resilience Project in Moldova (PCRR), the National Vine and Wine Office (ONVV) and the Agency for the Development and Modernization of Agriculture (ADMA).
To benefit from funding, the winners must co-finance at least 30% of the total budget needed to implement their project.
On August 25, the National Office of Vine and Wine is organizing the National Conference – The Particularities of the Harvest, an event dedicated to the grape harvest of the 2023 season. During this conference, speeches and interactive sessions will be held by leading participants from the wine and agricultural industry.
Starting at 10:30 a.m., attendees will be able to register and receive informational materials and conference kits. At the opening of the event, prestigious personalities from the field will speak, such as the interim director of ONVV Elizaveta Breahnă, the Minister of Agriculture and Food Industry Vladimir Bolea, the EU ambassador in the Republic of Moldova Janis Mazeiks, the MAIA representative Adrian Digolean and others.
During the conference, the topics addressed will include the viticultural situation and the particularities of grape processing in the 2023 season, discussed by Elizaveta Breahnă, the interim director of ONVV. Also, Adrian Digolean, Secretary of State responsible for the wine sector within the MAIA, will present the current state and prospects of this sector.
Angela Căpatină, manager of the wine industry and marketing within the USAID Rural Competitiveness and Resilience Project (PCRR), will reveal the opportunities to support the wine sector from the PCRR and USAID. Diana Coșalîc, deputy director of AIPA, will discuss the subsidy strategies for the wine sector in the years 2023-2026.
In addition, the role of state control in ensuring the quality and safety of wine products will be analyzed, presented by Sergiu Mazureac, head of the Directorate for the Control of Safety and Quality of Wine Products, Ethyl Alcohol, Beer and Alcoholic Products within ANSA. Also, the importance of registering wine plots in the Wine Register, as well as the particularities of the 2022-2023 wine year, including meteorological conditions and phenology, will be discussed, under the guidance of Ștefan Iamandi and Vladimir Corobca, viticulture coordinator at ONVV.
The event will end with a workshop led by the interim director of ONVV, Elizaveta Breahnă, where the participants will learn the techniques for evaluating the maturity of the grapes and tasting the grapes, developing their expertise in this field.

We are happy to tell you that at the Concorso Enologico Internazionale Città del Vino 2023 Moldovan wines were appreciated and awarded with gold and Grand Gold medals.
According to the organizers, around 60 experts and representatives of various sectors participate in the tasting sessions of this competition every year, including oenologists, importers, technicians and journalists from Italy and abroad, who are given the opportunity to get to know more the participating wines and the territories they come from.
In this competition, ONVV supported, with the help of strategic partner USAID, 68 wine samples from 22 producing companies.
The wineries came home from this competition with a total of 17 medals – 5 Grand Gold and 12 Gold medals.

On May 16-17, the 7th edition of the Wine Prague international exhibition will take place at the Exhibition Center in the city of Prague, Czech Republic. This year’s edition brings together dozens of participants from several countries around the world to facilitate the international wine trade and create an international network of wine professionals.

We are happy to announce a new success for our wines. Within the “Challenge International du Vin”, Moldovan wines won exactly 55 medals, of which 8 gold and 47 silver.
The participation of our winemakers in the competition was possible thanks to ONVV, which supported 37 companies with 72 samples present in the competition.
The “Challenge International du Vin” is a prestigious competition in France, organized in the form of a blind tasting, and is open to all wines and alcoholic beverages made from grapes from around the world (in bulk or bottles), regardless of the year of harvest.
The contest is a true pioneer of international competitions in France, being one of the most famous competitions worldwide.
The manner in which the tastings take place is unique to international competitions, with each tasting panel being composed of 4 members: a technician, a producer, a distributor and an informed consumer. The winning wines thus reflect consumer tastes
We are happy to share that the Wine of Moldova will be represented at RO-Wine The International Wine Festival of Romania by 40 producers, including 15 small winemakers supported by the National Office of Vine and Wine and the strategic partner USAID Moldova. The International RO Wine Festival – International Wine Festival of Romania will take place between 12-14 May 2023 in Bucharest.
Both operators from the HoReCa sector and premium quality and luxury wine enthusiasts are expected at the event.
The wineries will exhibit their products under the umbrella of the country wine brand “Wine of Moldova. A legend alive”, and we invite you to get to know the stories of the wines created in Moldova and the people behind them.
The Spring Wine Opening is fast approaching, and we urge you to make sure you have a ticket to the beloved event of all wine lovers.
