Branesti Wine Cellars

Branești Wine Cellars

The Brănești Winery is located inside an old limestone mine with galleries extending over a distance of 75 km and occupying an area of 75 ha.

The entire architecture is constructed at a 60 meters depth, which makes it possible to maintain a constant temperature of 12-14 degrees and 90-92% humidity all year round. Next to the natural conditions comes the skilfulness of people which transform the grapes into a Bahic beverage. The winery possesses about 800 ha of vineyards located in a beautiful forest area, on the coast of Orheiul Vechi village, but also in the Romanești and Tudora villages.

Most wine production is exported to China, USA, Poland, Germany, Romania, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Ukraine, Baltic States, etc.

The winery is pioneering the first underground hotel in Moldova and is developing a unique “Stone Age” tourist complex. This will offer visitors an opportunity to experience life in a cave, as it would have been in the Stone Age, with small touches of the modern epoch. Here you can enjoy cave life away from the noise of modern civilization and eve-ryday worries.

Tourists will have the opportunity to discover the underground galleries, to taste wine in the rooms specially arranged for tastings, to rent places for wine storage, and to participate in cultural events, organised in the performance hall. Soon, the hotel rooms, the SPA area and Stone Age restaurant will also be ready, where no access to internet and telecommunications will exist, so that tourists can fully enjoy life in the cave (mobile con-nection will be available at the entrance to this complex).

Branesti Winery is easy to find because Brănești village is located near Orheiul Vechi (5 km away), 20 km away from Orhei town and 50 km away from Chisinau.

Poiana

Poiana Winery

For hundreds of years, the inhabitants of our lands have been taming vines, this being a symbol of continuity and eternity. While our wines have become a bearer of the country’s fame all over the world, this fame, to some extent, has its origin in the Ulmu commune.

The Poiana Winery is located near the Ulmu village, in the middle of a wonderful mead-ow. The wine is produced from grapes originating from our own vineyard, cared for with great passion by our workers. The secret of a wine lies in the grapes. The grapes are manually harvested in mid-autumn from fruiting vineyards, ripe in the sun. This explains the noble taste of the wine.

The Poiana winery is surrounded by the most beautiful secular forests – Codru.

Milestii Mici

Milestii Mici Winery

The history of Milestii Mici winery starts from an old stone-extracting mine, located only 20 km away from Chișinău, the capital of the Republic of Moldova.

The 200 km of underground galleries, out of which the limestone deposits had been ex-tracted, turned out to offer perfect conditions for long-term storage of wines at a relative humidity of 85-95% and a constant temperature of 12-14° C. Thus, was born a place for wine maturation at 40-80 meters depth underground. In the 1970s, the huge oak barrels were installed, in which carefully selected wines, produced out of the best vineyards of our country, started to be stored.

Milestii Mici Winery specialises in the production, storage, and marketing of wines. Wine tourism, which came from a large flow of tourists on a daily basis, thus, transformed dur-ing the last 15 years into a new and rapidly developing area of focus for us.

Indisputably, Golden Collection Milestii Mici is the calling card not only of the Winery, but for the country, as it was qualified in 2005 by the Guinness World Records as the largest collection of wines in the world. This is an absolutely impressive place with about 1.5 mil-lion bottles of wine deposited at 80 meters underground. Visitors have the opportunity to rent wine vats in which they can store their wines.

“Here we store a collection of exclusive old wines, part of the National Cultural Heritage of the Republic of Moldova, hidden in a secret cave, which have survived over time and also survived the wine prohibition during the Soviet times”.
