Salcuta Winery

“Sălcuța” is a family winemaking business founded in 1995. It is located in the picturesque Sălcuța village, in Căușeni district, at the South-Eastern part of the Republic of Moldova, also called “the heart of Moldovan wines”.

The winery has an extensive portfolio of products, including individual variety wines, wines with Protected Geographical Indication, matured wines, and unique blends of wine from varieties selected by the winery’s winemakers. The local and international varieties, planted on an area of over 400 hectares of vineyards, start their way to the winery where the talent of winemakers and the use of innovative equipment perfectly correlate, to create special and unique wines. Sălcuța Winery is the place where, in addition to effort, attention and devotion, people follow a continuous path to perfection, learning either a unique formula of a blend or creating other unique wines for wine lovers everywhere.

Wine “Tămâioasa de Sălcuța”

This is a transparent rose wine, which exhibits aromas of rose petals and white cherries. They complement the taste with barberries nuances leading to an attractive freshness.

Wine “Pinot Noir 2017”

This is a wine with a bright red-ruby colour, revealing a multitude of aromatic reminiscences of red fruits, followed by vanilla and spices. It has an elegant and sophisticated finish.

Wine “Pinot Gris”

This is a representative product of the winery with a translucent straw-yellow colour. It has aromatic nuances of pear and lemon. The taste is balanced and round which is, reflected in a harmonious aftertaste.

Maurt

Maurt Winery

The passion for wine in the Maurt family was passed down from father to son. The company was officially founded in 1996 and originally, it was a family business. The foundation of the state enterprise was laid by the founder Aurel Morar, the current CEO of the company.

The vineyards of the Maurt company have their roots in Nisporeni – a picturesque location surrounded by the Nîrnova brook, that flows into the Prut River, with hardworking people that have the tradition of making good wine in their blood. Here the vines have a special terroir, being stretched over sunny vineyards, and caressed by an ideal climate. Per total, the company has 25 hectares of its own vineyards.

The Maurt company owns a modern wine making factory in Nisporeni, in the protected geographical region of “Codru” and also a bottling plant in Chisinau. The annual production capacity of the company is 10 million bottles (still wines, sparkling wines, balsams, brandy, liqueurs, vodka, and other alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks).

Today Maurt is a family of 150 employees, and the company owns many famous brands, well-known far from the country’s borders, including Western Europe. One such brand is Bacio di Bolle, which translates from Italian as “the kiss of the bubbles”, something that can be fully found and enjoyed in every product in this category.

Kazayak Vin Winery

This business started a few years ago, in 1997, when a unique place in the south of the Republic of Moldova attracted the attention of French winemakers from the company “Ron Amivin”, located at the same altitude as Bordeaux.

The mild climate and the unique clay soil, rich in minerals and trace elements, found in this place, offer ideal conditions for the development of agriculture, viticulture, and wine-making. That was how, on the site of an old winery, founded in 1958, the French wine-makers created a joint Moldovan French company “Kazayak Vin”.

It is produced from Cabernet Sauvignon and Feteasca Neagră. This is a wine with a per-sonality that combines the elegance of the Fetească Neagră variety and the passionate nuances of Cabernet Sauvignon. The wine has an intense ruby colour and conquers a consumer with a balanced and rich texture and an aroma of berries with an accent of blackberries, spices, and dried cherries.

Wine “Cabernet Reserve”

This wine has a remarkable character and a ruby red colour with brick colour hues. Its aroma is complex with nuances of spices, sapphire, and vanilla. The wine has a rich, vel-vety, energetic taste which harmoniously combines the nuances of ripe cherries and soft tannins and transforms into a long aftertaste.

Wine “Dusha Monakha”

This wine is produced from selected grapes of the Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Pinot Noir varieties. It has a ruby red colour and an aroma of red fruits with nuances of spices. Its taste is soft, fruity, with a long and velvety aftertaste.

Good Season

Good Season Winery

The Ganea Vineyards winery was founded in 1865 and in those times was named after its founder August Bauer, who was from Germany.

August and his sons settled in Bessarabia and invested all their family capital into grape cultivation and wine production. The family emigrated after the First World War and later the winery had several owners. After the collapse of the Soviet Union, the winery was completely abandoned. In 2015, the Ganea family decided to restore and develop the family winemaking traditions. Thus, the winery was reborn. At present, the Ganea Vineyards have become known worldwide through the Land of Bessarabia wine brand, recognised by the Michelin Guide.

Gitana

Gitana Winery

The Gitana Winery was founded in 1999 based on an older winery founded in 1953, which became the property of the Dulgher family. The latter undertook major efforts to re-equip the factory, renovate the cellars, equip them with barrels and oak vats and, of course, planted new vineyards.

The vineyards owned by Gitana are part of the Valul lui Traian winegrowing region, the total area of the winery sums to 390 ha. Gitana Winery is in a constant process of expanding its vineyards, giving much importance to the cultivation of local grape varieties. Gitana vineyards are located in the area of two villages of the Leova district and are divided into three areas. One area is in the Filipeni village, and the other two are the Romanovca village.

In the winemaking process of white wines, after the grapes destemming and crushing, winery uses cryomaceration. The cryomaceration technique allows the extraction of the maximum amount of flavour substances found in the inner part of the grape skin, without negatively influencing the quality of white wine. The obtained must is cooled to 5-8 ° C for a period of time ranging from 10 to 24 hours. The maturation of white wine takes place in stainless steel vessels or in 225 litre barrels. Characteristic of red wines is a maceration-fermentation process on top of the must. Fermentation takes place in oak tubs, solely with the help of local yeasts. The process takes about 20 days, during which time the must is in contact with the grape mark and takes over the necessary tannins, the aromas, and the necessary dyes.

Wine “Lupi”

This is a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Saperavi and Merlot produced from the 2016 vintage. It is a dry red wine with an intense, rich bouquet and with aromas of blackberries and fruits, followed by nuances of chocolate.

Wine “Saperavi”

A dry red wine, from the 2017 vintage, with red fruit flavour. It has an intense and complex taste, with nuances of cream, resulting from malolactic fermentation in clay.

Wine “Manastirea Rorbach Cru”

This is a dry white wine, from the 2017 vintage. It has an aroma of honey, peach, orange peel and wildflowers. It is characterised by intense acidity and mineral content and has a mineral-iodized aftertaste.
